Greetings and welcome to my site!

My name is Dan Swezey and I'm an aquaculture scientist and applied marine ecologist.

I lead science focused on the development of sustainable marine food systems, marine
conservation and adaptation to global change in the oceans.

Sustainable Food From The Sea

I'm currently a Research Scientist at the UC Davis Coastal and Marine Sciences Institute.   I work with diverse coalitions of stakeholders, including aquaculture businesses, coastal tribes, academics and government scientists whose many interests have defined the core goal of my career in science: integration between the conservation of biological diversity and the sustainable development and expansion of aquatic food systems.

About Me
When not at work, you can find me on stage performing with musical artists in Sonoma County, hiking and surfing the north coast, or with my head down in the garden cultivating home grown fruits and veggies. Living the good life!
